OPPORTUNITY:

 

We are looking for an Application Administrator for a permanent opportunity in the Fresno, CA area.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • We are seeking an intermediate level Application Administrator to join our Business Information Systems team.
  • Individuals in this position are generally assigned to a variety of tasks of medium scope, under general direction, that require a solid understanding and proficiency in application administration.
  • On routine tasks, they usually work independently.  However, good team player skills are required as well.
  • Provides technical administration services for various user’s departments.
  • Will install, implement, integrate, and maintain application software.
  • Administers data backup/recover/archive, data security, application maintenance, performance tuning, job scheduling, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
  • Develop specifications for application software and modify/maintain the most complex existing application software packages via releases and utilities from the vendor.
  • Design, code, test, and debug the most complex application software; convert and maintain multiple software packages; evaluate and procure application software/database/hardware platform support maintenance support.
  • Provide training and act as the internal technical consultant in relation to the platforms, operating systems, databases and applications assigned.
  • Facilitates resolution of complex problems and special requests for assigned platforms, databases, and/or applications.
  • Ensures appropriate policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards are developed, instituted, and maintained in support of assigned platforms, databases, and/or applications.
  • Maintain relationships with hardware/software vendors as they relate to assigned systems/applications.
  • Participates in providing on-call and callback support for applications and related database components assigned.
  • Assists with project management by helping to develop implementation plans and timelines, providing status reports, exchanging relevant information with management and technical teams, and meeting timelines established.
  • Generally, requires direction from senior application administrators/business analysts and manager.
  • Ability to operate Mainframe, mid-range processing platforms, PCs, Printers, Servers, copiers, scanners, PDAs, and telephone.
  • Independently develop specifications for application software and modify/maintain the most complex existing application software packages via releases and utilities from the vendor.
  • Design, code, test, and debug the most complex application software; convert and maintain multiple software packages; evaluate and procure application software/database/hardware platform support maintenance support.
  • Administer applications dealing with overall file maintenance routines, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, upgrades, scheduling, and backup and recovery functionality.
  • Provide Training and act as the internal technical consultant in relation to the platforms, operating systems, databases and application
  • Remain up to date on operating system software, operation procedures, application software, technological developments and industry trends in systems and programming; attends meetings, conferences and seminars.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Software analysis, application administration & technical administration for various users departments.
